PLANNING COMMISSION MEETINGS
Borough Planning Commission meets on the third Wednesday of each month, when business requires at 7:00 P.M. The Meetings are conducted in Borough Council Chambers, 2nd Floor, 304 South State Street.
ROLE/DUTIES OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION
The role/duties of the Clarks Summit Borough Planning Commission are defined by the Borough's Zoning Ordinance and the Borough's Subdivision and Land Use Ordinance. Additionally, this local government role is defined by state law in an act known of the "Municipalities Planning Code (MPC)".
With the exception of Minor Subdivisions (Three (3) Lots or less), the Commission, working with the Lackawanna County Regional Planning Commission, the Lackawanna County Soil Conservation District, the Borough Engineer (William Karam, P.E.) and other state agencies as required, reviews Subdivisions and Land Uses planned for the Borough. Based upon its own review and comments received from these several other persons/agencies, the Commission is a recommending body to Borough Council.
SUBMISSIONS TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION
The requirements for submissions to the Planning Commission can be found in the Borough's "Subdivision & Land Use Ordinance, March, 1994". In addition, a complete application is also required. Incomplete applications/ documentation and/or fees received at the time of submission will be returned to the owner/developer/engineer/architect without action by the Borough.
MINUTES OF PLANNING COMMISSION MEETINGS
The Minutes of all Clarks Summit Borough Planning Commission Meetings are maintained at the Borough's Administrative Offices, 2nd Floor, 304 South State Street, Borough of Clarks Summit, County of Lackawanna, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. These Minutes are open to public inspection during normal business hours of the Borough (Monday - Friday (except Holidays) 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.) in accordance with the "Open Records Act".
