REGISTER TENANTS

Clarks Summit Borough would like to remind the owners of residential rental properties that they are required to register their tenants with the Borough and update the Borough as their tenants change.  Ordinance 2007-01 allows for a fine of $600.00 for any person violating the provision of this ordinance.  Landlords should call our office at 586-9316 for registration forms or should they have any questions.

TREE TRIMMING

YOU MUST HAVE A PERMIT ISSUED BY CLARKS SUMMIT SHADE TREE COMMISSION TO DO ANY TREE TRIMMING, PRUNING or REMOVAL FOR TREES LOCATED IN THE BOROUGH RIGHT OF WAY. THIS IS BOROUGH LAW!!! CLARKS SUMMIT ORDINANCE 2006-01. VIOLATORS WILL FACE A $600.00 FINE.

BASKETBALL HOOPS

Please remove any basketball hoops that are near the roadway and in or near the public right of way. These hoops may be damaged during snow removal and leaf removal if they are not relocated. The Borough is not responsible for damage of anything in the public right of way.

LEAVES

Please keep in mind when cleaning leaves from yards not to rake the leaves and yard waste into the gutters that lead to the storm drain area.  When it rains, these areas can become blocked.  We are asking that you bag these items as our next leaf pick up will not be until the fall.  Thank you for your assistance in keeping Clarks Summit a beautiful place to live.

THREE DIGIT "CALL BEFORE YOU DIG" TELEPHONE NUMBER
As warmer weather allows borough residents to begin more outdoor projects, the 8-1-1 abbreviated dialing system is being launched. Residents can dial 8-1-1 to make certain underground utility lines are marked before digging 18 inches or deeper. The 8-1-1 telephone number is an abbreviated system for calling the PA One Call System, which homeowners and contractors are required to call at least three business days before beginning any digging or excavation project. Before digging begins, PA One Call System contacts the utility company, who will then mark the locations of lines with either paint or flags. The free service allows residents to learn the location of utility lines before digging begins, making do-it-yourself projects much safer for both those who dig and the surrounding neighborhood. For more information, visit the PA One Call System website and the national 8-1-1 information website.
